Main Stage At Classic Theatre of Maryland Customers Reviews
Styx was mediocre
Styx was next and they did a few of their other popular songs, a couple older classics, and a number of lesser songs--plus they even did a Beatle's song! With 15 albums you'd think they would have had enough material of their own. A Tale of Two Cities opened with a few of their favorites, and then got monotonous. Fancy guitar fretwork is awesome to watch and hear, but the dueling guitarists schtick went on way too long.
38 Special opened, and they were great. I guess due to the legal issues from the breakup, Styx can't do any Dennis DeYoung songs, so they did the best they could with the 30-40 minutes they had. We left early (as did many others). A better alternative for fans of these 3 bands is to see them on their own at a smaller venue (I saw 38 Special this way, and their 1/12 hour show was great.) Also, go see Dennis DeYoung--he's touring.
